Boyer & Ritter announces plans for strategic leadership transition with continuity, expertise, and growth at the forefront
CAMP HILL, PA – Boyer & Ritter, a leading regional accounting and advisory firm, is excited to announce a carefully crafted leadership transition plan to ensure a seamless changeover while preserving the firm’s legacy of excellence and growth.
CEO Robert J. Murphy, CPA, CVA/ABV, will oversee Boyer & Ritter’s leadership transition over the next nine months, ensuring continuity.
"Serving as CEO for the last 15 years, I've had the privilege of witnessing Boyer & Ritter's remarkable evolution,’’ Murphy said. “As we prepare for this next chapter, I'm confident that our strategic leadership transition will only further our commitment to excellence and ensure we continue to deliver nothing but the best to our clients.’’
Under Murphy’s tenure, Boyer & Ritter became one of the most recognized midsize firms in the region, developing practice expertise in verticals like construction, manufacturing, auto dealers, and more. Accounting Today has repeatedly ranked Boyer & Ritter among the top Mid-Atlantic accounting firms, and the firm has been named among Best Places to Work in PA for 14 consecutive years and ranked #3 Among Mid-Sized Employers for 2022.
As part of Boyer & Ritter’s leadership transition plan, the firm’s principals chose to disperse the CEO responsibilities to a management team. The management team, working collaboratively, will consist of the Chair of the Executive committee, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) two growth officers (CGO), and a new Managing Partner position, to be the face of the firm in the business community. Recently, the principals elected Lisa Myers, to be the Managing Partner, in addition to her role as COO, effective July 1, 2024.
The cornerstone of Boyer & Ritter’s transition plan and reallocation of leadership duties, fosters collaboration and encourages industry specialization. This transition, which started in July 2022 with the naming of Myers as COO, followed by naming Tom Taricani, the Chair of the Executive Committee and naming Matt Wildasin and Jay Goldman as Chief Growth Officers in July 2023, concludes with the introducing of the Managing Partner position in 2024. These roles complement each other, ensuring operational efficiency, strategic long-term planning, and market growth.
Murphy said the transition plan is rooted in leveraging the expertise of multiple operational leaders, fostering a division of duties, and promoting responsibility-sharing.
"We have always advised our clients on the importance of forward-thinking succession planning,” Murphy said. “Now, we are setting an example by strategically transitioning our leadership to safeguard our firm's future and ensure the continued excellence of our services,"
Above all, Murphy said Boyer & Ritter will remain true to its core principles.
“Our ‘North Star’ is to emerge as the unequivocal industry experts in our practice niches, setting new standards for excellence, innovation, and client service within the realm of accounting, tax, and advisory services.”
