Overview

Mark, Boyer & Ritter’s Manager of Consulting, Compliance, and System and Organization Controls (SOC) services is a key member of the Advisory Services group.

He leads a wide variety of engagements that best use skills he gained from previous audit and accounting services experience as a staff auditor for a national accounting firm. Mark applies his wealth of knowledge and experience to each engagement he leads, providing each client a unique suite of services that consistently exceeds expectations.

Mark’s primary practice areas include:

Consulting Services

  • Driving successful client engagements through strategic work plan development and implementation.
  • Providing clients with strategic guidance, research findings, and data analysis to support informed management decisions.

  • Leveraging collaboration with external organizations to understand their most pressing issues and craft customized solutions.

Compliance

  • Performs in-depth audits to verify compliance with relevant acts, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Performs financial and operational internal audits, risk and process improvement assessments, compliance testing, and documentation in various functions and processes. 
  • Manages, plans and performs financial, operational, and data processing internal audits of public and private entities, which include accounting, data processing, management controls, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Acts as team leader for large and complex audits.

System and Organization Controls (SOC) Audits

  • Analyzes the design and effectiveness of internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Evaluates the soundness, adequacy, and application of controls in new and established systems and procedures.
  • Provides consulting services to develop effective internal controls for for-profit, not-for-profit, and governmental entities.
